Surrender Fields Bohea black tea is a unique tea that certainly takes you back to a simpler time, tea around a campfire. As I enjoyed the flavor I thought of Washington and his men on the day of British surrender.

I bought this tea and was immediately taken by the aroma in this loose tea. It is smokey and strong and evokes a campfire or fireplace on a cold day. I immediately imagined Colonial Virginians sipping this tea in their homes! I brewed a cup using just about a teaspoon of tea. It retained the strong smokey aroma but was surprisingly mild in taste! The color was a dark amber and I chose to sweeten it with just a dab of honey. That was just enough to take this tea to a new level of surprise. A dark strong aroma with a mild brew. So different from anything I have had elsewhere and a fabulous gift for tea lovers and connoisseurs.
